Cities near Kaatsheuvel

Are you in the mood to join the hustle and bustle? From ‘Uit & Thuis’ you can walk in about 7 minutes to the heart of our village, including cafes and restaurants at the Anton Pieck Square. From Kaatsheuvel, you can also reach the cities of Brabant quickly by car, by bicycle or by public transport (bus). It is easy to travel to the cities of Utrecht, Rotterdam, The Hague and Amsterdam from Kaatsheuvel, both by car and by public transport (bus and train).

  • Enjoy the largest fair in the country: the Tilburg Fair (July)


By car, about 5 minutes’ drive. Tips:

  • Shoe Museum (closed until early 2019 in connection with relocation). In the Lokaal Blauw workshop/concept store Blue Locally You can still find information about the footwear and leather industry.
  • Cycle on the Halvezolenpad, the former railway line that runs through Waalwijk to Den Bosch
  • Visit the church of St. John the Baptist
  • Discover the finest shops of Waalwijk and enjoy an outdoor cafe in the centre at the old town hall
  • Tour the Dye Sprancke windmill in Sprang-Capelle (every Saturday afternoon or by appointment)


By car, about 20 minutes’ drive Tips:

  • Walk around the town, including to the Begijnhof Beguinage and the Grote Kerk (Large Church) or Onze Lieve Vrouwe Kerk (Church of Our Lady), and through the historic Ginneken market square
  • Boating on the Singel canal and the river Mark
  • Go shopping in the charming town centre
  • Visit the Milieu Educatief Centrum (Environmental Education Centre), including exhibitions and a bat colony
  • Museums: Bierreclame Museum (Beer Advertising Museum), Museum of the Image (MOTI), Breda Museum

Den Bosch

By car, about 20 minutes’ drive Tips:

  • Take a boat tour on the Binnendieze river
  • Visit the church of St. John
  • Go shopping in the charming town centre
  • Museums: Noordbrabants Museum, Stedelijk (Municipal) Museum
  • Theatre, films and events in former biscuit factory of Verkadefabriek


By car, about 15 minutes’ drive

Fortified town with more than 130 monuments, restored fortifications, beautiful art galleries, quaint shops and lively restaurant terraces. Surrounded by water, with several harbours around the fortress.
